Glass fiber is a very important material in China, which has been applied in many industries in China. Its derivatives such as glass fiber cloth, glass fiber felt, chopped glass fiber filament, glass fiber composite, etc. have very important applications. Among them, glass fiber composite is a large category, and there has been a problem that plagues people in the process of processing in this industry, that is, shrinkage deformation. What makes this happen? There are two mechanisms leading to shrinkage: curing shrinkage and cooling shrinkage.
Curing shrinkage usually occurs in two stages: curing (before and after demoulding) and post-curing (after demoulding).
1. Curing shrinkage refers to the volume change of resin during curing. This kind of solidification shrinkage is inevitable, try to be before stripping from the original mold.
2. After taking out the mold, some solidification will be carried out, and these additional shrinkage will cause defects on the mold surface. This is often referred to as "post curing", but the real deformation is caused by the additional shrinkage during the post curing process.
It can be seen that selecting appropriate low shrinkage resin is an effective way to solve the above problems.
